Our assembly participate in parades, funeral honor guards,
confirmations and will be represented at the fourth degree
exemplification held annually at the Sheraton Hotel in Lisle,
Illinois on the second weekend
in February.
The Assembly has a voluntary Chalice Fund for the members who wish to participate.
The idea of having a Chalice Fund came from SK Chuck Noyes. Chuck pitched the idea
from his former assembly in Colorado.
In short, the Chalice Fund is an anticipatory bequeath made by a member for the
benefit of the named beneficiary. A participant begins with a $10.00 donation
(sort of like an ante) followed by a yearly $5.00 donation.
All funds are kept in a separate trust fund administered by the Faithful Purser.
In the event of the death of a Fund member, a Chalice is supplied to the Family,
to be donated to a priest or church at the request of the Deceased Sir Knights family,
or if no such request is made it will be donated to the missionaries, in memory of the Sir Knight.
The Chalice is also displayed at the wake of the deceased Sir Knight. At the request of
the family of a deceased member the Assembly will also provide for an Honor Guard
at the wake of a deceased member.

This training session will discuss how the Guard Should be conducted.
This is a Great Opportunity for everyone to get trained.
The Honor Guard Manual has changed over the years and a lot of Sir
Knights are not aware of the New Changes. Come to the Training and help
us look Sharp and Dignified. Watch for future training opportunities.

Each year, the Knights of Columbus Joliet Chapter hold a
dinner in support of the Bishop of the Diocese. Councils
and Assemblies within the diocese make a donation to the
Bishop to continue the ongoing work within the Diocese.
The Bishop's Burse Dinner is generally held
during November. Look for future announcements.
