We are members of the Patriotic Degree of the Knights of Columbus.
Our assembly is located in beautiful DuPage County serving many of the
councils located throughout the Joliet Diocese.
On February 22, 1900, the first Patriotic Degree exemplification
was held in New York City. The ritual added
patriotism to the
three original principles of the Order: charity, unity
and fraternity.
Any member who has taken their Knighthood Degree and is in good standing, is eligible to take their Patriotic Degree. The primary purpose of
the Patriotic Degree is to foster the spirit of patriotism by
promoting responsible citizenship and a love of and loyalty to
the Knights’ respective countries
through active membership in local Patriotic Degree groups
called assemblies.
Fr. Sullivan Blessing for Sir Knights
You can recognize us anywhere -- those men wearing new uniforms
white gloves, and swords dangling from their hips.
You’ll find us dressed in our new uniforms or formal regalia
at Catholic ceremonies, including ordinations and special Masses.
But what you don’t usually see is all the good work done behind the scenes
by these men - - the Knights of Columbus, the world’s largest Catholic
fraternal service organization.
The Knights of the Patriotic Degree adhere to the following goals:
Standing Firm in Support of the Order
Knights of the Patriotic Degree are dedicated to the personal development
and continued honor of brother Knights. We are always there to offer leadership,
guidance, and encouragement.
Proudly Serving the Country
Knights of the Patriotic Degree glorify God by serving our communities
and nations as though Christ were the one being served.
Unwavering Support of the Faith
Knights of the Patriotic Degree hold unwaveringly to what is right and
honorable, working to keep God in the civic arena, serving the life of
the Church, and defending laws that recognize the sanctity of life
and true religious liberty.
Honoring the Legacy of Knighthood
The Color Corps is an elective division of the Patriotic Degree
that presents a visible reminder of our service to the community.
Our assembly is part of the Northern Illinois District 1. The current Master
of this district is
Alexander Tennant

Jim Russell our Past Faithful Navigator and 150 committed fourth degree knights.
Our chartered officers were installed on June 2, 2007 at St. Raphael’s Parish in
